All JinLi's Tai Chi classes incorporate qigong breathing; strength, flexibility, balance and coordination exercises; Tai Chi techniques and fundamentals; martial applications and form work.

Tai Chi Beginners

JinLi Beginners will enjoy a gentle but focussed introduction to the wonderful world of Tai Chi. Each class will incorporate Qigong breathing; strength, flexibility, balance and coordination exercises; Tai Chi techniques and fundamentals; martial applications and form work.

SUITABLE FOR ALL AGE AND FITNESS LEVELS.

Tai Chi Beginners Level 2

JinLi’s Tai Chi Beginner Level 2 program follows on from the foundations learnt as a beginner. You will  usually progress to this level within 1 to 2 years. The class format will remain essentially the same as you continue your skills development and training. It is at this stage that you will be introduced to things such as weaponry, push hands etc.

SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS COMPLETED THE BEGINNERS PROGRAM, ALL AGE AND FITNESS LEVELS.

Tai Chi Intermediate

JinLi’s Tai Chi Intermediate program continues on from the foundations learnt as a beginner. It is a challenging program incorporating the Chinese Wushu Association’s Duan Wei protocols and many other skills. You should expect to reach this level within 5 years depending on the amount of time you have to practice and study. 

SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS COMPLETED THE JINLI BEGINNERS TAI CHI PROGRAM.

Tai Chi Advanced

Our Advanced program provides the opportunity for students who are familiar with barehand and/or weapon routines to refine their skills in a supportive yet mentally challenging environment.

 

If you would like to attend any of our classes, contact the instructor listed for that class or contact our office. You do not need to complete an enrolment form prior to attending your first class.

Your first JinLi class is FREE - if it doesn't suit you, walk away - no pressure, no cost. If you decide to stay you can pay either weekly or by the term.

There is no special equipment or clothing required for Tai Chi or Qigong - just wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes.

What You Can Learn - Tai Chi

The Taolu (forms or routines) component of our program starts with the Duan Wei Level 1 Yang Style Taijiquan Single Routine (we refer to it as Yang 9), and progresses to include the following:

  • Yang style 9
  • Yang style 13
  • Beijing 24
  • 32 Taijijian (Sword)
  • 42 Competition Taijiquan (Barehand)
  • 42 Competition Taijijian (Sword)
  • 18 Yang style Taiji Shan (Fan)
  • 36 Yang style Taiji Shan (Fan)
  • Sun style 73 Taijiquan (Competition routine)
  • Dong Yue style Taiji routines
  • Traditional Weapon forms including Jian (Straight Sword), Dao (Broadsword), Bung (Short staff), Shan (Fan), Qiang (Spear)
  • The complete Duan Wei Taijiquan program

What You Can Learn - Qigong

Qigong is incorporated in to all of our classes. We help Beginners settle in to the concept of Qigong practice by teaching the ShiBaShi Taiji Qigong Routine. At that stage we shift our Qigong focus on to the extensively researched routines published by the Chinese Health Qigong Association. Each of the routines has been optimised for health, relaxation and mind development, and include:

  • Ba Duan Jin (8 Golden Treasure Brocade)
  • Yi Jin Jing (12 Limbering Exercises)
  • Wu Qin Xi (5 Animal Exercises)
  • Liu Zi Jue (Six Healing Sounds)
  • Shi Er Duan Jin (12 Sitting exercises)
  • Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong Shi Er Fa (12 Step Daoyin Health Preservation Exercises)
  • Shibashi Taiji Qigong 1
