QIGONG/TAIJIQUAN INSTRUCTOR - Shifu Peter Eves

Peter obtained a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering before becoming a pioneer in the health and wellbeing movement in the 80’s, working as a registered remedial massage therapist. His knowledge of remedial therapies and dry needling has helped sporting people recuperate from punishing exercise programs, assist with injuries, pain management, stress and rehabilitation, in particular working with state level swimmers and runners. He also has a Diploma of Nutrition, giving him a deep understanding of how the body functions, diet and exercise, the mind-body connection along with disease and injury prevention. Peter started studying Qigong with Grand Master Jack Lim over 30 years ago and has continued to study and train in various forms of Qigong since that time, confirming his belief in the healing benefits of Qigong and Chinese Medicine.

His journey into Chinese martial arts was a natural progression and extension of his Qigong studies, commencing Baquazhang training nearly 10 years ago with Master Shao Zhao Ming, and more recently studying Taijiquan and Qigong with Professor Sun Han Xiang and Shifu Tara Brayshaw.

Peter has undergone the International Health Qigong Federation Qigong Instructor Training Program; trained at Beijing Sport University with Professors Wang Xiao Jun and Liu Xiao Lei and at Chengdu University with Traditional Chinese Medicine Professor Hu. When not practicing and promoting the enormous benefits of qigong and taijiquan to the community, he is involved in the organization of national qigong and taijiquan competitions here in Australia and is currently the Victoria and Tasmania Representative for the Tai Chi Association of Australia.

Peter’s lifelong dedication to health and healing focusing on the 5 pillars of traditional medicine ensures you will get the most exceptional and comprehensive learning experience available and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have Peter as part of the JinLi team.
